Toy Factory Lofts, built in 1924, is the amazing restoration of an authentic Downtown L.A. – Arts District warehouse and former toy factory into 121 live-work condominium lofts. Located in the Arts District, the Toy Factory Lofts have been revitalized with modern and convenient features. Train tracks zig and zag through the area, prescribing the Toy Factory and other area buildings. The Toy Factory is infused with a dynamic, industrial past. At the same time the building and area looks enthusiastically to the future, bridging from one turn-of-the-century to the next…The Toy Factory Lofts building was completed in 1924 for the Star Truck Warehousing Company by the Western Land Improvement Company, the land development arm of the Santa Fe Railroad. Unique to the building is its curved north elevation, which follows the arc of an out-of-service Santa Fe Railroad spur. With massive, poured-in-place concrete columns and floor structure, the Toy Factory building was designated a civilian bomb shelter in World War II. In 1974, the property was purchased for use as a toy factory by Ace Novelty and then the Play-by-Play company. Linear City LLC purchased the Toy Factory property for conversion to live/work lofts in 2002. Welcome to Ross Morgan!
